Sheet Generator

What it does

Sheet Generator shows every view in your model that isn't on a sheet yet. You build sheet cards — each card is one sheet with a number, a name and the views you drag onto it — one at a time, or all at once from a sheet list pasted from Excel or loaded from a file.

Click Generate Sheets and the whole set is created with your chosen title block, views placed as a tidy starting layout and your preferred viewport types applied. It's a big time saver when setting up a new documentation set or adding a batch of sheets at a project stage.

Before you start

• Revit 2024–2027. Sheet Generator is free — it works whether or not you have an AECOtools seat.
• Open the project you're documenting.
• Load the title block family you want to use.
• Create the views you want to place — views already on a sheet won't be listed.

Quick start

1. On the Sheets & Views panel, click Sheet Generator.
2. Pick the Title Block at the bottom left.
3. Type a sheet number and name into the first card — or click Add Cards to paste or load a whole sheet list.
4. Drag views from the Views list onto each card. Use Filter to find them quickly.
5. Optionally, click Viewport Defaults to choose which viewport type each view type gets.
6. Click Generate Sheets and review the summary.
