ReFlow

What it does

ReFlow takes the values of one parameter across a whole category — or just your selection — and runs them through a stack of rules you build: insert or delete text, find and replace, rearrange, change case, tidy up, reformat dates, pull in values from other parameters and more. The new values appear right next to the current ones, so you can check every result before a single change is made.

It goes beyond ordinary parameters, too: type names, family names, and the names of views, levels, rooms, materials and filters can all be tidied in bulk. It's ideal for bringing a model into line with naming standards, cleaning up inherited content, or stamping information from one parameter into another.

Before you start

• Revit 2024–2027 with a licensed AECOtools seat, and a project open.
• To work on just some elements, select them before opening ReFlow. With nothing selected, every category in the model is available.
• Have your naming standard handy so you know what the finished values should look like.

Quick start

1. Open Utils ▸ ReFlow, then pick a Category and a Parameter.
2. Click Scan to list every target and its current value in the Preview.
3. Click Add, choose a rule type, set it up and click Add Rule. Add more rules as needed.
4. Check the New value and State columns, and use Remove Selected for any rows you want to leave alone.
5. Click Rename. A summary confirms how many values were updated.
