Mission Control

What it does

Mission Control is a dashboard that sits beside Revit while you work. Four tabs give you a live overview of the model: Contents (what's in your selection, view or project), Model Health (a traffic-light list of common health checks), Systems (MEP and electrical connections) and Documentation (a register of views, sheets and templates).

Tick rows in the summary tables to filter down to exactly the elements you're after, then select them in Revit with one click. It's ideal for BIM managers, coordinators and modellers who want to find, count and review things quickly without building schedules or filters by hand.

Before you start

• Revit 2024, 2025, 2026 or 2027.
• An active AECOtools seat or trial — Mission Control is included with a seat.
• Open a project model and make it the active document. Select some elements first if you want to start with just those.
• Worksharing is optional; workset and ownership views are most useful in workshared models.

Quick start

1. On the Utils panel, click Mission Control. The Contents tab opens with your current selection or active view.
2. Choose a scope from the drop-down (for example Entire Project), add any search text and press Enter.
3. Tick rows in the summary tables — say, a category and a level — to narrow the element list.
4. Tick the elements you want and click Select In Revit.
5. Switch to Model Health, click a red or amber check, and select the elements behind it.
6. Click Export Excel... to save the current tab's list as a workbook.
