Batch Tasks

What it does

Batch Tasks takes the repetitive model maintenance off your plate. Build a list of Revit files — local models, ACC / BIM 360 cloud models, or the links of the project you have open — and assign each one the jobs it needs: migrating to a new location, repathing links, reloading families or materials, exporting IFC, NWC and more, writing audit reports, cleaning up, unloading links or upgrading to your current Revit version.

Every file can carry its own set of tasks. Click Run and a live report follows the batch file by file, with a clear comment on what happened to each model. It's built for BIM managers and project teams who look after lots of models, project milestones and version upgrades.

Before you start

• Revit 2024–2027 with a licensed AECOtools seat.
• No model needs to be open — Batch Tasks runs from Revit's Home screen. If a project is open, it's added to the list for you and its links can be added in one click.
• Working with ACC / BIM 360 models needs a one-off Autodesk sign-in; your BIM manager or IT team can help set up cloud access.
• Revit is busy for the whole run, and migrations, upgrades and exports write full-size files — plan big batches for after hours and check you have disk space.

Quick start

1. Open Utils ▸ Batch Tasks and click Add Files…, then Local… or Cloud… to fill the file list.
2. Tick the rows you want to work on.
3. In Task Assignment, click a task's button (for example Options… on Project Cleanup) and choose its settings. The Tasks column updates.
4. Repeat for other rows and tasks. Tick Dry run if you'd like a preview first.
5. Click Run and watch the Live Report work through your models.
6. When it reads Done, review the comments, use Export CSV… to keep a record, then Close.
