AECOtrack

Cloud issue tracking for design coordination. Raise an issue from a Revit view and AECOtrack remembers the exact snapshot, camera and elements, so anyone can jump straight back to the problem.

What it does

AECOtrack keeps a project's coordination issues in one shared cloud list that replaces PDF markups and email chains. When you raise an issue from the model it captures a snapshot of the view, the camera, the selected elements and their location (level, grid and room where they can be worked out). Mark up the snapshot, assign it, and the person fixing it can click straight back to that exact spot in the model.

It's built for design teams, BIM coordinators and project leads who need issues to stay attached to the model — with comments, attachments, a simple review workflow and printable reports. The same issues are available in Revit, in Navisworks and on the web, so architects, engineers, contractors and clients all see one list.

Highlights

  • Raise an issue from any Revit view — snapshot, camera, elements and location captured automatically.
  • Mark up snapshots with clouds, arrows, text, shapes and more, right in the panel.
  • Jump back to the saved view with the issue's elements selected in one click.
  • Simple review workflow, with before-and-after snapshots when an issue is resolved.
  • Assign issues to people or groups, and filter to what's assigned to you.
  • Comments and attachments keep the whole conversation with the issue.
  • Warns you when the elements you've selected already have an open issue.
  • Highlight every element with an active issue in the model.
  • Generate a professional PDF issues report, grouped the way you need.
  • Invite collaborators from other companies onto the same project.

Before you start

  • Revit 2024, 2025, 2026 or 2027.
  • An active AECOtools seat or trial — AECOtrack is included with a seat, and you're signed in with your AECOtools account.
  • An internet connection.
  • A model open with a graphical view active when you want to raise or revisit issues.
  • Access to an AECOtrack project — create one, or ask your project admin to add you.

Quick start

  1. On the AECOtrack panel, click Issues and choose your project from the dropdown at the top.
  2. Set up the view you want to talk about and select the element(s) the issue is about.
  3. Click + NEW. A new issue opens with a snapshot of the view and your selection attached.
  4. Add a title and description, mark up the snapshot, choose an assignee, then click Create Issue.
  5. The assignee opens the issue and uses Show in model to go straight to the saved view, fixes it and sets the status to Ready for Review.
  6. The reviewer checks the before-and-after snapshots and closes the issue. Use Report any time for a PDF of the project's issues.

Tips

Always select the elements before clicking + NEW — that's what lets AECOtrack find and highlight them again later.

Keep shared coordinates consistent across your models so an issue raised in one model or application opens in the same place in another.

Set up disciplines and user groups for your project early, so issues can be assigned and filtered cleanly from day one.
